Introduction to the Kids curriculum.
Kids Jiu-Jitsu" refers to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practice specifically designed for children. It is a martial art and combat sport focusing on ground fighting and submission. Kids Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes discipline, respect, and physical fitness while teaching children self-defense techniques in a controlled and supportive environment. The training typically includes grappling, positional drills, and technique instruction, helping children develop confidence, coordination, and problem-solving skills. It promotes a healthy lifestyle and instills important values that extend beyond the mat, contributing to the child's overall well-being.
At The Academy, we believe that Jiujitsu & self-defence training should be for everyone! Bullying is an epidemic worldwide and can have far-reaching consequences and effects on a child’s confidence as they grow up if they don’t know how to deal with the physical & mental stress that it can cause.
Our kid's curriculum for ages 4 to 10 years old focuses on simple but effective techniques & games that you can practice at home with your child to help build their confidence, have fun & create a bond by doing something that will remain a core memory for them.
For those joining The Academy Kids program, this video series & manual are invaluable tools for your child to study to develop their skills & progress through the ranks, and they will need to master them to get promoted as they go on their Jiujitsu journey!
Even for those who cannot attend The Academy, the manual and videos will also help give your child structure, focus, and direction on progressing, being accountable & working towards achieving a goal. It not only shows & explains the techniques, but it also provides your child with rules & philosophies that help them behave in training and outside of it.
